The Place can make a big impact with different people. It shows a concept of the backgrounds behind it. The place can show how people live. Some can have careers that are in the certain place, some can walk by it as they are going through to a specific destination, some may even visit to explore a new city. It’s a memory people pass by, it can also be a culture that people celebrate along those places, a celebration of people’s identity, etc. It can be an opportunity that you can’t pass up. If you decide to pass up the opportunity, you may regret it later in the future. This can happen at random but many times. One example of an opportunity is seeing or trying something but obviously it would be crowed and a long line, therefore you wouldn’t go but you would probably regret it as it was a once in a lifetime opportunity to do it.

One artist that I found was “Paul Rohland”, he was modern aesthetic, photo-engraver, printmaker, and muralist, primarily known for his landscapes, cityscapes, floral still life’s, still life’s, figurative works and murals. He often painted landscapes of the surrounding areas. In one of his paintings, it’s labeled “Village Street” and it shows to be a normal day. It shows the reality and what could be a typical day. People are sitting under the trees separately as they probably wanted to relax and chill by this building nearby the resting area these people were sitting at. One other artist is Angus B Rands, he was known for his pastel and watercolors work. He often painted the scenery of places he went. He painted the different seasons, in different areas with a lot trees, and plants. I assume he went travel a lot and he illustrates the view of what some people can’t see sometimes in other parts of the world. An urban planner that I found was Jane Jacobs. She worked on city plannings and rebuilding where she was actually arrested when going against the plans of Robert Moses as she was looking out for NYU. After, she went to Canada and built neighborhoods for a community-friendly plan.

In our time of covid-19 that none of us were prepared for, it’s hard to adjust with new work, school, and life. The experience can be made better by adding like glass walls on tables where we eat at restaurants, desks like people who work in the office do; they have their own little cube that they can work alone. Also since people don’t listen to the six feet apart rule in stores like walmart or target, what we can do is have a small alarm just for that area. It can adapt because we’re all trying to protect ourselves from the virus. It can adapt to our lifestyle because it’s needed for our safety. A millennial is different from a boomer because boomers need to be more careful and hesitate and need to be given more than what they have.

My vision for the place is that we social distance and begin to enjoy what we have left in our world, like the artists painted the scenery. Don’t take things for granted. What I hope America would be in 2024, is we all just get along and help each other. This year has been a total mess and an epic battle. We won’t be able to predict what will come in 2024 which would be four years by now. I personally expect us to still continue social distancing and wearing our mask nonetheless. I would like to make amazing memories, and be creative while in this pandemic. After graduation from CSULB, I hope to experience a bunch of opportunities for careers and in my life because it is hard, money wise and hopefully this pandemic will be gone by then.
